With 25 years of experience as a record producer, Gareth Hudson has worked with some of Australia's most exciting artists across a wide range of genres. As a multi-instrumentalist playing guitar, piano, drums, bass and vocals, Gareth brings more than just recording expertise to your project. He can help shape arrangements, develop ideas, capture performances and get the very best from your songs. From a Full Band to a Full Orchestra Gareth's musical expertise extends well beyond traditional band arrangements. With a Master of Arts in Screen Music from the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS), he has extensive knowledge of orchestration and composition for film and screen. Whether your music calls for strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion or a full orchestral arrangement, Gareth can compose and arrange parts to bring your musical vision to life. These skills can add a whole new dimension to your recording—from subtle string arrangements that lift a chorus to fully orchestrated cinematic soundscapes. SERVICES
PRODUCTION
Gareth can oversee and manage the sound recording and production of your music - which may range from recording one song to recording a lengthy concept album. The role as a record producer often varies with each project. It can involve gathering musical ideas for your project (e.g. genre/instrumentation), collaborating with you to select songs for your album, or working with you to help strengthen your songs, lyrics or arrangements.

Gareth will supervise the entire process from pre-production, recording and mixing, to the audio mastering stage.

RECORDING
Hazy Cosmic Jive features two isolated recording rooms, a vocal booth, and a monitoring control room. All rooms have been acoustically treated to ensure the best possible recording outcomes. Musicians can track simultaneously in separate isolated rooms, or multitrack their songs, to tape or digital format.

MIXING
Gareth will mix your music to the highest professional standard ready for commercial radio, online or television release. Hazy Cosmic Jive Studio features two tape machines to add warmth to your mixes, and an SSL Matrix console for analog summing to add depth and space, which will make your songs jump from the speakers!
ARRANGING
Gareth has arranged string, brass and woodwind ensembles for artists including, Amy Vee, Buddy Knox, Briggs (Feat. Gurrumul) and The Beards. Gareth can arrange music for small and large ensembles, for any instrument of the orchestra, and provide professional charts to musicians for recording or live performances. INSTRUMENT TRACKING
Gareth is a multi-instrumentalist who regularly performs on his clients recording projects. He can provide piano, guitar (bass, acoustic or electric), Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer electric piano, Hammond organ, didgeridoo, percussion or vocal tracks for your recording. He can also organise session drummers, string quartets, brass ensembles, or any combination of instruments you desire. I'll provide you with professionally recorded files in your desired format (up to 24 bit/192Khz) for importing into your DAW session if you want to take your files home to mix on your own DAW.
